After surviving a bad experience in the corporate world, I sort of readjusted my thinking and asked myself what I really wanted to do instead of what I thought I should be doing. I looked at my husband and said, “I’ve doubted myself long enough, I’m going to go after my dream and start a party planning business.” Luckily I have his full support and after a summer full of parties, my business is in it’s final stages before it’s launch. I realize that parties aren’t essential but they make life more fun and I want to be part of that.
Nearly everything inspires me. One thing I’ve really learned from being a blogger is to keep your eyes open all the time. I am always struck by how beautiful the earth is and how much there is in life to enjoy. I take a break from my daily schedule and from the computer. I go on a bike ride, to a well curated shop or read a magazine. If nothing comes to me, I wait. I eat dessert. I watch 30 Rock. I call my mom.

Don’t let fear of failure discourage you. Don’t let the voice of critics paralyze you — whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside.” I like to remind myself of this when a project I’m working on fails
